Our Process
How we build small business websites
Zylis runs website projects through a clear sequence: consultation, page planning, approvals, build, QA, launch, and post-launch support—so you always know what happens next.
How this website process works
We start by clarifying what the website needs to do: what services you offer, what visitors need to trust, and what action you want them to take when they land on the site.
From there we move through page planning, approvals, build, QA, and launch in a way you can track without having to chase technical details every day.
What this process helps prevent
- Vague scope that shifts weekly and slips launch indefinitely.
- Approved design drifting from what ships because the handoff is unclear.
- No clear approval checkpoint before the full build moves ahead.
- Domains, DNS, SSL, forms, or hosting treated as surprises at the end.
- No identifiable owner when something needs tightening right after go-live.
What you get from a clear process
- A website plan built around your services, trust signals, and contact flow
- Named approval checkpoints before build and before launch
- Forms, mobile layouts, and core visitor paths checked before go-live
- A support path after launch through your included monthly upkeep window
Phases at a glance
Exact tactics flex by project, but most website engagements follow this arc.
- 1
Consultation and goals
We align on what the site needs to accomplish, what pages matter most, and what assets or tools are already in place.
- 2
Page plan and approvals
We map page structure, messaging, and layout direction, then get your approval before the full build moves ahead.
- 3
Build and QA
We build the approved pages, verify forms and mobile layouts, and check the main visitor paths before launch.
- 4
Launch and support
We coordinate go-live timing, sanity-check the pieces you rely on day one, and stay reachable through packaged post-launch support.
Common questions
How much of my team's time does this absorb?
Usually not much day to day. We mainly need your team for kickoff, approvals on page direction, and quick fact-checking. We try to batch questions instead of interrupting you constantly.
When do I approve the site before the full build?
There is an approval checkpoint before the full build moves ahead. We review the page direction and structure first, then continue into build once that is aligned.
What if something pops up immediately after launch?
That is normal. Small fixes right after launch can usually be handled inside your monthly update allowance. If you want something bigger added, we scope it separately so the work stays clear.
